Barbie Cafe in Taiwan



Barbie lovers should vacation to Taiwan. There is no restaurant in the world's first Barbie. Rumble pink!

Mattel, the U.S. toy manufacturer has given permission for the restaurant chain in Taiwan, Sinlaku. Sinlaku also opened a restaurant called 'Barbie Cafe'.

This restaurant accidentally opened in the bustling shopping district in the capital, Taipei, to attract tourists. Mattel hopes the opening of this restaurant could help promote Barbie as a fashion brand.


In addition to its own Barbie doll, a range of accessories, clothing and furniture made ​​Mattel will also be sold at the cafe. Furthermore, Yip hopes that this restaurant is able to attract visitors from other countries, such as China, Hong Kong and Japan.

The existence of Barbie Cafe is well received by local residents. Jessica Ho, who works as an employee there admitted very pleased with the existence of this cafe. Moreover, Jessica could be invited as well as 5-year-old daughter.


Taiwan does have a long history with Barbie. This country was once a center of production manufacturing Barbie dolls, Mattel before moving their factories to China and elsewhere in the late 1980s ago.

Mattel itself has launched a similar concept store in China in 2009, in conjunction with the 50th anniversary of Barbie. However, about 2 years later the store closed because it does not sell.
